About Edo Kars

Edo Kars, still photographer / director

Edo Kars, born in The Hague the Netherlands, studied Photography
and Audiovisuals at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

Edo Kars works as a photographer internationally out of the
center of Amsterdam, with agents in the USA, France, Germany and
Spain. Because of his curiosity and open mind his field of activity
keeps on growing: cars, people, portraits, landscapes, locations,
interiors, lifestyle.

In 2001 Edo Kars received the prestigious European Epica
Photography Award (Stone Prize). After that his work is rewarded
many times by IPA, AOP, ADC, ADCN , Cannes Lions, EuroBest, Clio
awards, Communication Arts, American Photography, Graphis and
Montreux.

His work appears in both 'Luerzer's Archive 200 Best Ad
Photographers', this last issue with more than 10 nominations. In
april 2010 the third '200 Best' was released again including many
images of Edo Kars.

Clients involve ABN AMRO, ING Bank, Rabobank, Audi, Mercedes,
Lamborghini, Volvo, BMW, Peugeot, Honda, Seat, Ursus Vodka,
Heineken, Amstel, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Allianz, KLM, Ameriprise,
Gaz de France, Canon, Philips, Pioneer, Sony, NIKE and many
more.

Edo started directing tv commercials about 10 years ago. After
joining several production companies as a director he decided to
concentrate on still photography and only shoot tv commercials on
the side if specially requested. These productions have for example
involved worldwide used commercials for ABN AMRO Bank and URSUS
Vodka.
